Diary anecdotes and curiosities

Santa Maria Novella, Opera del Duomo Museum, Accademia and Santa Croce on the second day, Palazzo Vecchio, Orsanmichele

Wow. Three and ½ days with guests that wanted to see everything, and I mean everything, in Florence, but despite that we didn’t succeed! We did the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace on the first day, Santa Maria Novella church, OPA Museum (Duomo complex), Accademia Gallery and Santa Croce church on the second, Palazzo Vecchio, Orsanmichele, Palazzo Medici Riccardi on the third, and Bargello museum on the morning of the fourth day.

But still many things are missing: S. Lorenzo church with the marvelous Donatello’s pulpits, the spectacular Medici’s Chapels, the suggestive S.Marco Convent, the impressive Brancacci Chapel, the hidden pearl S. Trinita, and then S. Miniato al Monte, S. Felicita

how can you manage to see everything in Florence? Really a few days are not enough if you long to see all the most important artworks in town, you have to make a selection and leave the rest for a second or even third visit!

Because there must be another visit, you can’t just discover the Renaissance and then not want to know a little more, and always more about it!

With those guests we have given ourselves an appointment to soon, indeed to very soon, to continue our story about wonders, history, art, and I’m hoping I will meet many others of you so passionate about beauty!
